According to official data, when analysed only in mainland Portugal, the incidence is 79.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the Rt is 0.80.

These indicators are the criteria defined by the Government for the continuous evaluation of the deconfinement process started on 15 March.

On 11 March, at the presentation of the deconfinement plan, Prime Minister António Costa warned that the reopening measures will be reviewed whenever Portugal exceeds "120 new cases per day per 100,000 inhabitants at 14 days" or whenever the Rt - the average number of secondary cases that result from a case infected with the virus - exceeds 1.

The last report on these indicators, stated that Portugal had 96 cases of SARS CoV-2 per 100,000 inhabitants and a transmissibility index (Rt) of 0.83. Considering only mainland Portugal, the transmissibility index was 0.79 and the incidence 84.2.
