Since the minimum amount of the unemployment subsidy is set
at 1.15 IAS, the update of the index, which is currently 509.68 euros, will
increase in January to 552.49 euros. The maximum amount, fixed at 2.5 IAS, will
rise from the current 1,108 euros to 1,201.08 euros.
The adjustments, whether in updating the IAS or pensions,
are based on inflation data by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) which
indicate that average inflation over the past 12 months, without housing (which
typically serves as a benchmark for updating IAS and pensions) was 7.46% in
November, accelerating from the 6.83% of the previous month.
