The Government decided to prohibit sales between December 25th and January 9th, in order to limit travel and avoid the crowding of consumers in commercial establishments.
"Between December 25, 2021 and January 9, 2022, commercial practices with a price reduction are prohibited in establishments", reads the extraordinary statement from the Council of Ministers.
In addition to the ban on sales, the Government has decreed that the deadline for returns and exchanges will be extended. "The period for the exercise of rights attributed to the consumer that ends between December 26 and January 9, or within ten days after that period, is extended until January 31, 2022".
Who dreams up this rubbish, the sales will start on the 9th January then.

So what about the hundreds of thousands of people in the shops in the run up to Christmas, shoulder to shoulder?!

What a brilliant idea!! After the massive spike in COVID, in January, maybe this will stop people spreading it so far after being cooped up with their families over Christmas!

Brilliant! Stay home. January 10th isn't a lifetime away. Deal with it.
