In a statement, that CREPC said that the occurrences required the intervention of 186 workers, supported by 65 vehicles from different municipal services and Civil Protection agents, namely, the fire brigade.
The bad weather, which affected the region with greater incidence at dawn on Christmas Day, affected the municipalities of Loulé (nine occurrences) and Portimão (six) mostly although it also affected Albufeira, Aljezur, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Monchique , Olhão, Tavira and Vila do Bispo.
All occurrences – caused by rainfall, sometimes heavy, and by episodes of strong wind – were resolved by the municipal level of civil protection – without the need for regional reinforcement, adds CREPC.
