The alert situation, the lowest level of response to disaster situations in the Civil Protection Basic Law, ended on Friday.

“The Council of Ministers today approved the declaration of the alert situation in mainland Portugal until May 5 and introduced changes to the set of rules in force to prevent and combat the pandemic”, said Mariana Vieira da Silva.

Among the measures announced today is the end of the mandatory use of the mask, with the exception of places frequented by “especially vulnerable people”.
