This is according to an annual ranking by German company Airhelp, which assessed 132 airports on such as delays in departures and arrivals, quality of service, and availability of food and stores.
According to the ranking, eight of the world’s top 10 worst airports are in Europe, and two of them are Portuguese.
I don't know what they are talking about. I have been lately 4 times in Lisboa airoort and I have no complains.

It seems the "evaluators" have never been to Frankfurt airport, or Heathrow, or Charles de Gaulle or the airport in Madrid. All nightmare airports in my opinion!

Seriously??? What about the cesspit that is known as Manchester Airport.....

Can't speak to the data about delays and whatnot, but as someone who has been in 40 countries and 40 US states, I can say pretty definitively that Lisboa is not even close to the worst airport. Just in the States, La Guardia and Midway are far worse. Las Vegas is awful. LAX is awful. London Heathrow is a pain. Lisboa has its faults, but worst in the world? That's a joke.
I refuse to believe that every airport in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe is better than Lisboa.

Absolute rubbish, I regularly fly in and out of Lisbon and have never had any issues, some times busy but it's Portugals primary airport, Manchester, Heathrow and several UK airports are ten times worse than Lisbon

Chicago o Hare is by far worse than Lisbon.

Came through Lisbon airport yesterday. Second time in a month and a shambles both times. One electronic booth open for passengers from UK. When passengers started to get frustrated they reluctantly opened another booth. EU passport holders walking straight through the other 8 booths. Not a great welcome to Portugal for non-EU tourists. Plenty of staff milling about and not a busy time of day. Doesn't bode well for summer visitors

Two sides on the issue: for Schengen passengers, there are most of the time no problems at all, when you have to pass passport control on busy arrival times, that is quite another matter. I agree that for exemple Frankfurt and Charles de Gaulle are far worse airports than Lisbon.

These ratings are just a marketing gimmick by AirHelp. I have seen Athens as # 3 best airport in terms of passenger experience and is completely BS. So...sorry this is not a reliable "survey".
By Maddox from Other on 01 Jun 2022, 09:51
Clearly they've never been to Manchester.
By Trevor from UK on 01 Jun 2022, 09:53
Nonsense! I use both airports frequently and have never had any problem.

That one who created that list has never been to Italy.

You just need to travel to Mexico city airport and compare to lisbon or porto to know what is a bad airport a, delays, thiefs and the worst restaurants. They are like heaven and hell.

Having lived in Portugal for the past 5 years...Lisboa Airport is not the worst...The problems are with SEF and the management of the Airport Cue Times...Lived and traveled to more then 42 countries around the world...Stateside DFW is a nightmare...Chicago O'hare a close second...Mexico City and Berlin Tegel have been my Worst Experiences...But today flying isn't Cool...I'll take the train instead...Less Hassle...
