Researcher Ricardo Neves told Lusa News Agency that the samples that led to the identification of the species were collected 10 years ago in the Ria de Alvor, in Portimão, and were stored at the Complutense University of Madrid, until recently, a master’s student from that academy became interested in them and made the discovery.
