According to tourism activity statistics from the National
Statistics Institute (INE), the increases recorded in May compare with the
increase of 426.4% in guests and 552.1% in overnight stays obtained in April,
leaving 3.2% and 0 .7%, respectively, down from May 2019, before the pandemic.
In April, the total number of guests and overnight stays had
been, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, above the
pre-covid-19 homologous period.
