Citing data from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF), the
newspaper reports that of the immigrants who obtained a residence permit this
year, 47,600 are Brazilians who claim to come to Portugal for work, but have
difficulty when it comes to housing, since wages are low, rents are high and
landlords are increasingly making more demands.
Faced with the difficulties, many have chosen to share
housing or rent rooms, living outside city centres in an attempt to find lower
housing prices.
According to DN data, the Brazilian community has 252,000
people in Portugal. Most are workers, small business owners and higher
education students.
