Despite the
Covid restrictions they learnt how to continue to worship weekly by the magic
that is the Zoom Platform. Throughout this time the Congregation flourished and
even grew, and entered the post pandemic age stronger, fitter and more focused
on their vision for spreading the good news of Christ.
When the
restrictions for meeting together were lifted All Saints were invited by the
Junta de Freguesia in Almancil to use the beautiful Building next to the lake
in the Jardim das Comunidades for their worship. A building which has now
become” The Church in the Park “
All Saints
has been further blessed with new members joining the congregation and together
with a number enlightened and enthusiastic Locum Ministers have introduced new
ideas, new ways to worship, new ideas of ways to spread the Gospel.
In a bold
move, and striving towards a strong and united future the Church has announced
their determination to continue in this new forward movement, and henceforth
the Church will now be known as Christ The King Anglican Church. A strong
statement of Faith for the Congregation which simply put says Christ above
everything. The new name is accompanied with new, modern, upscale brand image.
Jenny
Wills, Chairperson for the Church Council, says “We have talked about a fresh
image and a new name for the church for quite a while, and with prayer and
discernment we believe that God has determined that now is the right time. We
look forward to a future as Christ The King Anglican Church and invite everyone
to join us at “The Church in the Park” to experience our worship and
fellowship”
