According to a survey by the Portuguese Insurance
Association (APS), Leiria was the district with the most claims reported, but
claims involving greater losses were reported in the districts of Faro and
Aveiro.
Almost all of the reported losses relate to multi-risk
insurance, both commercial and industrial (49%) and housing (37%).
“The situation that the country has gone through recently,
and the increasing frequency of the climatic events that are at its origin,
reinforce the importance of insurance as an element of mitigating the losses
suffered and a factor of stability in the lives of people and companies”, said the
president of APS, José Galamba de Oliveira.
It´s not COSTING insurers 8 million. The premiums they take from folk are more than enough to cover all eventualities. You are sensationalising with your misleading headlines.
