José Luís Carneiro, Minister of Internal Administration, according to CNN, says that September is expected to be hotter and drier than the months of September in previous years. At the moment, it is estimated that 50 municipalities, in the entire region of mainland Portugal, will be at maximum risk.

In view of the high risk of fire, the Minister of Internal Administration does not rule out any contingency plan, as a “critical period of fires” may be ahead.
