A pilot scheme to trial
“flying” ferries between Belfast and Bangor in Northern Ireland is set to be
launched in 2024.

With a top speed of 69km
per hour, the ferry will “fly above the water” as underwater wings lift it up,
like a plane, when it begins its journey. The electric ferry will be able
to carry 150 passengers and is said to eliminate sea sickness thanks to its
design.
