According to a report by CNN, the body, which was found on
September 19, was identified after French police released images of tattoos
found on the body.
The victim is said to be a 41-year-old woman with origins in
Caxinas, in Vila do Conde. The victim had a tattoo with her son's name,
"Kiko".
The body was found in Mont-Saint Martin, close to the Luxembourg
border, about 70 kilometres from where the victim lived. The discovery was made
by a young man who was going to urinate next to an abandoned building, near the
town hall. It was the owner of a bar in the area who called the authorities
after being alerted by the young man.
The body was recognised by the woman's ex-boyfriend, whose
relationship had recently ended. The woman's 22-year-old son has already been
informed, as have her parents.
