The Algarve International Circuit will once again receive
Formula 1 cars – but not for a race.
In December this year, Pirelli will test in Portimão and
AlphaTauri will be coming to the Portuguese track, according to SportTV
commentator João Carlos Costa.
The testing will take place during the 14th and 15th of
December, and will take place behind closed doors. The press will not be
present at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, as happened last July, when
McLaren was also testing on the Portuguese circuit.
Also according to the SportTV commentator, who made the
revelation during the Japanese Grand Prix, in addition to AlphaTauri, there
could be another team involved in the Pirelli tests.
In what way does the love affair with Formula 1 complement the sustainability mission statement of the Algarve ?

Annie. I´m not a fan, but quite a lot of innovation used in our cars comes from F1.
Still, the sooner the sport goes renewable, the better.
