According to the Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Setúbal, the alert for the accident, which resulted in the death of the Dutch man, was given to firefighters at 15:24.

The collision also caused serious injuries to a woman, also of Dutch nationality, who was riding on another bicycle and who was sent to the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano, in Santiago do Cacém, “with serious injuries”, said the same source.

The driver of the car involved in the collision suffered minor injuries and was assisted at the scene, said the CDOS.

The accident occurred on EM 1085, the road that connects to Lagoa de Santo André, in the municipality of Santiago do Cacém, in the district of Setúbal.
