The DGS says that people in this age group (50-59) “will
begin to be called for vaccination soon”.
In information published on its website, the DGS says that
the latest opinion of the Technical Commission on Vaccination against covid-19
points to benefits in this expansion, “since a higher level of seasonal booster
coverage is reached”, consequently a further reduction in the number of
hospitalisations related to covid-19 are expected over the winter months.
The expansion of vaccination “is possible given the current
availability of vaccines and the rate of vaccination, which prioritises more
vulnerable groups, with almost two million seasonal doses having already been
administered against Covid-19”, says the DGS.
