In 2022, “exports reached 941 million euros, which
represents an increase of 1.52% compared to the same period last year”,
indicated ViniPortugal – Associação Interprofissional do Vinho.
With regard to the main destination markets, France stands
out, with 111 million euros, 3.2% more than in 2021.
The United States (105 million euros) and the United Kingdom
(83 million euros) follow.
According to ViniPortugal, one of the biggest increases was
seen in the Angolan market, contrary to what had happened in the previous year,
which more than doubled (103.6%) the value of exports, followed by Mexico
(+74.6%). %) and Japan (+24.6%).
“[…] We are very satisfied with the results obtained,
considering that it was the year in which a war began, which still continues,
and which brought us economic weaknesses and even access to markets”, said the
president of the association, Frederico Falcão.
The head of ViniPortugal also mentioned that the objective
for 2023 is to reach 1,000 million euros in exports, “based on this growth in
the increase in the average price”.
