In a statement, AMN states that the operation took place after a request for support from the Judiciary Police to locate a vehicle that was submerged in the Bom Sucesso Dock.

“This morning the search operations began, with the team of forensic divers from the Maritime Police locating the vehicle with an occupant inside, a man aged around 50, already lifeless. The victim's body was later removed to land, where death was declared by the health delegate, and was subsequently transported by the Dafundo Firefighters to the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences in Lisbon, as indicated by the Public Prosecutor's Office”, indicates the note.

The investigation of the case was handed over to the Judiciary Police.
