Andy Jones, from Shrewsbury Town Fisheries, told the BBC that the event could be cancelled this year as anglers were hooking more sanitary products and wet wipes than fish. The number of fish has declined due to pollution levels, impacting the environment for younger anglers, Mr. Jones said.
Something fishy!

Sadly this doesn't surprise me at all. The state of British rivers, lakes and coastal waters is disgusting with sewage, slurry and plastic seriously polluting all these waters, not to forget "forever chemicals," another serious source of pollution. How are freshwater and marine wildlife supposed to survive in conditions like this?
