Having spent 25 years in the aesthetic and beauty industry, the founder Emalene Grove has spent a lifetime studying to achieve excellence in these fields. Her experience led her to opening her first salon in the UK in 1995, which grew into the award-winning salon it is today. “We road-tested the map for over 20 years in the UK and we are excited to bring those same extensive treatment offerings to Portugal.”

Emalene told The Portugal News that she has a long-standing connection to the Algarve “I would always have people asking me if I would ever consider opening a salon, but I never felt the timing was right. I came out to the Algarve and got stuck during lockdown, sadly my business in the UK was shut for 11 months. Our training school which specialises in providing a pathway for already experienced therapists also sadly got closed due to covid.” However, Emalene didn’t let the pandemic hold her back.

Further adding, “I started building a client base in the Algarve and chatting to people where I saw the gap and need for people wanting advanced services, which could not be found to the same standard as in the UK. The expat community was growing phenomenally, I saw the opportunity and went for it, and finally, we opened in March. We’re excited to welcome new and existing clients to our salon,” says Emalene.


Transforming the Beauty Industry in Portugal


Emalene is not only dedicated to providing outstanding treatments but also focused on elevating the standard of treatments and training within the industry in Portugal.

Emalene explained “I have found there are some really good therapists in Portugal, but they don’t have access to proper grounded qualifications. In the future I will be looking to bring internationally recognised qualifications to Portugal, to provide a pathway for qualified therapists to improve their skills and for new therapists to enter the industry with the necessary training and qualifications.”
