Today marks the coronation of King Charles III in the UK.
Millions of people across the world are expected to celebrate the event which combines a religious service and pagentry as is being held at Westminster Abbey at 11am in London.
To honour the event The Portugal News has turned blue to mark the crowning of the King and Camilla, the Queen Consort.
According to the BBC, “The doors of Westminster Abbey opened for the congregation at 07:30, with more than 2,200 people from 203 countries expected to attend. Heads of state and representatives of overseas governments are starting to arrive, foreign royals will arrive from 10:25 and members of the British Royal Family from 10:35”.
A complete waste of taxpayers money that could have been spent on nurses, teachers and other public servants many of whom have to rely on food banks!

Luckily just a normal, pleasant Saturday in Portugal.

‘Greg’, if you watched the coronation, the thousands of people that attended and the millions that watched would show you are in a very small minority. The people of the UK clearly are proud of their history and monarchy. Long Live The King.

Sorry JG, had far better things to do than watch that grotesque event! Data collected for the annual British Social Attitudes survey shows the number of people who say the monarchy is “important” has fallen to 29%, from 38% in 2022.
