According to a statement sent to The Portugal News, the initiative “consists of a stroll along Estrada Nacional 236”, which starts in Candal at 11 am and ends at 3.30 pm in Lousã. Around 60 people “wheelchair users from different institutions” will participate, such as ARCIL, Santa Casa da Misericórdia da Lousã, APPAACMD from Coimbra, APPACDM from Poiares, CERCI Penela and ADFP from Miranda do Corvo.

The route, approximately 10 kilometres long, is on a tarred road, with an average gradient of 3.5%. During the route, there will be a break for lunch, at an event in which the organisation “intends to provide these people with the possibility of strolling in Serra da Lousã.

According to ACRIL, Serra da Lousã “has the ideal conditions for people who use wheelchairs to enjoy a calm stroll.” In addition, the stop in the middle of the route allows you to appreciate the “natural beauty” of the Serra.
