"There are several companies hiring talent for the Algarve region, namely IKEA, iServices, MSCAR - Comércio De Automóveis, Forever Energy, Peroptyx, Havaianas, Servitis, Clínica ORYPSY, among others", according to a report by Noticias ao Minuto.
The platform also adds that companies have "vacancies for various positions such as Accounting Technician, Commercial, Receptionist, Customer Manager, Optometrist, Customer Advisor, among many others".
And what about the many scores of small businesses that need staff.

And I wonder where the folks coming to the algarve for jobs are going to live with lack of rental properties

Are these only tourism season type jobs? And is pay commensurate to the higher cost of living or renting in the Algarve?
As in many areas of the USA the pay falls far short of reasonable wages for the cost of living. Especially in post-Covided times. Housing, food, fuel and more are not declining.
And meds via prescription are not only more expensive, but also simply not available. Much work still to be done for the people of Portugal, whether native or immigrant.

Absurd cost of rentals (and lack of rentals) do not attract low paid jobs. Portugal only wants to continue pushing local people into poverty and backwardness. There are many other fields of productivity other than tourism (which depletes regions of intelligent productivity)

The government has encouraged airbnb and other short terms rentals.
This has destroyed and distorted both the long term rental market and the housing market.
Sure come and get a minimum wage job around 600 euros a month and try and live on that.
Impossible.
No where to live unless you want to live 10 in a room.
The Algarve has been turned into a bunch of seasonal hotel rooms.
No character no community no atmosphere no culture. No permanent industry.
Just six months of drunks and yobs and noise and crime and hell for those that actually live here.
