"We are finalising the proposal we received from ANA to try to improve its operation [from Lisbon Airport] as much as possible", said Minister João Galamba, at CNN Portugal Summit.
This proposal is being worked on in dialogue with ANA and the Ministry of Defence, said the official.
Questioned about the location of the new airport, Galamba did not give any new indications: "Let's wait for the conclusion" of the independent technical commission (CTI).
And the new airport? "It will still be a few years", said the minister, admitting that "we will still have to live" with Portela airport for "at least another 12 years".
12yrs ? Make that 50 ....at least.

Portugal will never build a new Lisbon airport. Of that I am sure.

I recently traveled to Portugal and spent 18 days visiting various cities and monuments throughout the country. We had a lovely time. The only negative experiences we had were flying in and out of the Lisbon Airport.
