The districts of Viseu, Porto, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga are under yellow warning from 12:00 today until 18:00 on Saturday due to the forecast of persistent high maximum temperatures .

The yellow warning for hot weather for Bragança, Évora, Guarda, Faro, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre also started at 12:00 today, but will remain in effect until 18:00 on Sunday.

The IPMA predicts for the next few days the continuation of hot and dry weather in the north and centre regions, with maximum temperature values of around 40 degrees Celsius standing out in the interior of the south r and in the interior part of the Tagus Valley, with the rest of the country above 30 degrees.

The minimum temperature will also increase, forecasting tropical nights (minimums above 20.°C) in several places in the Center and South, with emphasis on the Sotavento Algarvio region, where the minimums may be close to 25°C.

The IPMA also adds that the hot weather could also bring dust clouds to the South region, especially on Saturday.

The ultraviolet radiation index will also reach very high values in the next few days.
