About 250 firefighters remain on the ground, Thursday morning, the fire in the municipality of Almodovar, Beja district, which was dominated on Wednesday night, said a Civil Protection official.

By 06:18, 256 firefighters were on site, supported by 89 vehicles, according to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).

In fighting the fire a seriously injured firefighter was registered, hit by a water discharge, and a local who suffered minor injuries, according to a Civil Protection source.
