The IPMA also placed more than 100 municipalities in the districts of Braga, Via Real, Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Santarém, Lisbon, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Beja, Évora and Faro at very high danger.
Other municipalities in Viana do Castelo, Braga, Vila Real, Porto, Aveiro, Leiria, Lisbon, Santarém, Setúbal, Portalegre, Faro, Évora and Beja are now at high danger of fire.
Due to weather conditions, the fire risk will remain high in some counties, at least until Friday.
The IPMA predicts for today clear or cloudy skies in mainland Portugal, especially in the mountains, where there is the possibility of light and scattered showers.
Strong wind is also expected on the west coast and in the highlands and a slight rise in temperature.
The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 10 degrees Celsius (in Bragança and Guarda) and 21 (in Faro) and the maximum between 23 (in Viana do Castelo) and 34 (in Faro).
