“There are 20 new XISPA bicycles, with a range of between 40 and 60 kilometers (depending on the intensity of use)”, representing a municipal investment of 100 thousand euros, said the mayor of Bragança, Hernâni Dias.
According to the same note, the renewed 'E-Bike' bicycle collection/parking stations remain strategically spread across the city and have a new operating system.
“To use a XISPA, any citizen simply needs to, after downloading the application and registering on the respective platform, virtually access the nearest station and select one of the available bicycles. We understand sustainable mobility as a very important step towards preserving the environment, which should be everyone's concern”, says the mayor.
According to the Bragança municipality, given the success of the first generation of this project, “there has now been investment in smooth mobility, through this free bike sharing system”.
The city of Bragança has a total of 46.59 kilometers of cycle paths, including the EcoPista, Cycle Path Surrounding the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Cycle Path of Pólis, Cycle Path of Mãe D'Água, Circular Interior de Bragança and Mixed Shared Cycle Track in Zone Urban.
A story about bikes, yet not a single photo of the bike. That's really disappointing, and does little to encourage people to want to use or investigate the program.
