“Many people know that we have problems in the community, but no one takes any steps forward to discuss them, to find out how we can improve, or to recognise the mistakes that have been made and to predict the future. This five-panel conference aims to analyse the past, the present and foresee the future. That’s the concern,” said Norberto Aguiar, 69 years old.

The conference “Community – a Vision of the Past, Present and Future”, takes place this weekend, at Casa dos Açores do Quebec, in Montreal, following the anniversary of LusoPresse and LusaQ TV.

The owner and founder of these community media outlets in Montreal has been in Canada since 1975.

The businessman explained that it is already a tradition to “organise this type of discussions” and that for this edition five panels are planned on Emigration and Immigration, Youth, Women, Communities, Press, Music, Arts and Literature.

“25 elements will participate from Portugal alone, in addition to the United States, other areas of Canada, and also the province of Quebec”, he highlighted.
