I hope we make good efforts and make all of Åland proud", said the Portuguese coach on the team’s website.

The 39-year-old coach has experience with several teams on his CV, having been a youth coach at Casa Pia, Oriental and Sporting, he also coached Al-Hilal's under-23s, was assistant coach of the Cape Verde team, Olhanense and Busan IPark (South Korea). The last position he held was head coach at Pharco, an Egyptian club.
