Speaking to Lusa, the president of the Police Professionals Union Association, Paulo Santos, told Lusa that at 2am today there were a few dozen officers concentrated in the city of Porto, in front of the City Hall.
The official recalled that "the protest is spontaneous", having not been organised by any union, and said that there was a mobilisation of dozens of officers for the protest, which also led to the stopping of dozens of vehicles in several commands.
The was a mobilization for this protest from commands such as Braga, Faro and even the Azores and officers from places such as Caldas da Rainha, Leiria and Castelo Branco joined the concentration near the Assembly of the Republic, in Lisbon.
"We reached a few thousand people overall. Porto and Lisbon alone had more than 1,000 people," said Paulo Santos.
