In a statement, the company indicated that the closure will take place between 00:00 and 07:00 on Sunday, due to "work being carried out on the expansion joints of the northern access road deck".

In the same note, IP suggested the use, as an alternative, of the Vasco da Gama Bridge to cross both banks of the Tagus River.

"We would like to thank you for your better understanding of any inconvenience that the temporary traffic cut may cause, as this is necessary to ensure the good execution of the work that aims to improve the levels of quality, reliability and availability of automobile circulation on the 25 de Abril Bridge ", added IP.

Car traffic on the 25 de Abril Bridge had already been closed on January 28th and last Sunday for the same reason, in both directions.
