According to Jornal Económico, Madeira will host two World Travel Awards galas in November. On 22 November, the Region will host the World Golf Awards gala, and on 24 November it will be the stage for the World Travel Awards world gala. The two ceremonies take place at the Savoy Palace.

"It is a great honor for Madeira to be able to receive these two ceremonies. The realisation of these events presents itself as a unique opportunity to show the world how unique the region is and what a special destination it is," said the regional secretary of Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus.

The region has already hosted the European gala of the World Travel Awards in 2019.

At the European gala of the World Travel Awards, which was held last Wednesday, Madeira was distinguished as the Best Island Destination in Europe, Porto Santo received the award of Best Beach Destination in Europe, and the Madeira Promotion Association was considered as the Best Tourism Entity in Europe.
