Almancil, 13 March – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Luso-South African (CCILSA) joined forces with the British Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) to organise a remarkable networking event at Megabox Interiores’ Flagship Showroom in Almancil. Megabox are experts in Italian craftsmanship, priding themselves on their personalised service and stunning transformations working with Europe’s leading brands for the last twenty years in Lisbon and the Algarve, providing Luxury kitchen and bathroom designs for homes and new developments. This event, held in celebration of International Women’s Day, brought together nearly a hundred professionals from various industries across the Algarve region.
Empowering Women in Business
In honour of Women's Month, the event focused on empowering women in business and providing a platform for leading female entrepreneurs to share their journeys and insights. Attendees were treated to inspirational talks from prominent figures in fields such as construction, engineering, design, and hospitality.
Architect Anabela Macieira, CEO & Founder of CORE Architects, took the stage to share her experiences navigating the male-dominated construction industry. Following her, Sofia Sardo from Sofia Sardo by Design, an all-female design agency in Almancil, discussed her journey and the challenges she faced as a woman in the design field.
A Taste of Success
Amidst an evening of delightful surprises, attendees had the pleasure of savoring exquisite wines generously provided by the event sponsors, Herdade da Malhadinha Nova. Adding to the ambiance, Rita Soares, owner of the renowned vineyards, Garreferia Soares, graced the gathering with her inspiring story, by sharing her remarkable journey of nurturing a thriving hotel and wine estate alongside the responsibilities of a growing family for over two decades. Notably, Garreferia Soares recently earned the prestigious accolade of a green Michelin star for their restaurant, further enhancing their esteemed reputation in the culinary world.
Chef Jonnie Pratt from Tribulum Restaurant, along with South African pastry chef Mandy Cabeleira, crafted a menu of delicious foods that tantalised the taste buds of all present.
Looking Towards the Future
The evening concluded with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for future events. Megabox Interiores expressed their eagerness to host more gatherings aimed at fostering connections and collaborations among professionals in the Algarve and Lisbon.
Upcoming Networking Event in Oporto
Building on the success of this event, CCILSA will be hosting another event, this time for the vibrant city of Oporto. The event, in collaboration with several other chambers of commerce, promises to be yet another triumph, bringing together professionals from different corners of the country, is to be held at Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel, on 10 April.
