Consultancy Adecco has published the Portugal salary guide for 2024, which reveals how much workers can, on average, receive in gross terms this year.
According to a report by Dinheiro Vivo, 13 economic areas were analysed, with the financial sector, including banking, offering the highest salaries. On the other hand, the retail and construction sectors have the lowest salaries among the 13 areas analysed.
The guide highlights that companies are going through a period of "accelerated transformation" as a response to "high inflation, the global energy crisis and the restrictive policies of central banks, factors that have contributed to a slowdown in global economic growth". The Adecco report indicates that companies today face difficulties in attracting and retaining workers.
Bernardo Samuel, recruitment director at Adecco, quoted in a statement, "It is essential that companies adopt innovative employability strategies".
The salary guide analysed 13 sectors - finance and banking; human Resources; Supervisor; shared services; Sales and Marketing; retail; hospitality; health; energy; industry; construction; logistics; and supply chain.
