In a statement sent to Lusa, APPII welcomed “the resolutions on Housing, approved by the Council of Ministers, which rectify some of the most negative measures contained in the previous Mais Housing package, which highlights the effective revocation of coercive leasing, a measure that alarmed the market and removed a lot of confidence from small, medium and large investors”.

The association considered that the revocation of coercive leasing and the creation of a regime for the use of vacant or underused public properties by municipalities will help mitigate the housing crisis, “but only if included in a global national strategy”.

Real estate developers were also available to make their contribution to municipalities, “to create projects that quickly place more homes on the market for all market segments”.
