Players came from Vale do Lobo, Laranjal, Pinheiros Altos and Vila Sol to name a few. This will be an annual event. The Golf Manager Salvador Costa Macedo did an outstanding job of organising the format and the teams.

We raised over 10k euros for a New Foster program in Portugal. We had a lovely meal after the completion followed by the prize giving and the Auction. 9 am Shot Gun starts with stable foot format.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit a new Foster Program recently implemented in Portugal. Unlike the USA or UK, Portugal still has many orphanages. This new foster program will help children go to a normal family environment for a period of 6 months which can be extended. Hopefully, the situation in the home can be rectified and the children can ideally be returned home.

They believe every child deserves a loving family. Whatever their start, we can give them a better future. The reason Foster care is so Important in Portugal is because 6347 children live in institutions. Only 3.6% of those under 6 will find a family to adopt them. Here in the Algarve, there are 308 children in the foster care program of these only one child was taken in by a family. Furthermore, 45 of them are under 6 years old.

The first three years are essential for biopsychosocial development. Every day spent in foster care is a day of development that last forever.

Wanda Crawford says it always does her heart good when she sees the community come together to support the needs of Children. If we make this fundamental difference in the lives of the young children we will have served humanity in a profound way. Antonio Aleixo Foundation is working directly with these families to help them get into safe homes.

Foster Care is a temporary measure that entrusts the care of a child or young person to an individual or family… Giving the support, education and the love that they need to flourish.

You can be the difference in a child’s future.
