Data from Germany's Committee on Eastern Economic Relations, a lobby group which aims to promote trade between Germany and eastern Europe, shows that exports of goods to Poland grew by 4.6 percent to €48.4 billion in the first six months of the year.
Accounting for almost 19 percent of German trade, Eastern European countries have become a pillar of German export-oriented economy, while the US remained the main export market for Germany, followed by France and The Netherlands.
