The company’s CEO has stated its bottom line will suffer under the increased production costs of around 70 percent but hopes that their research will allow other companies to use plastic to save in the long run with their innovations.
In addition to this initiative, LEGO has also expanded its Replay programme, a recycled supply chain of bricks and pieces that are repurposed for their sets, which are mailed in by users who no longer want their LEGOs, with shipping covered by the company.
