According to a statement from IPMA, the islands of the Western group of the Azores (Flores and Corvo) have been under a yellow warning between 11:39 local time today (12:39 in Lisbon) and will continue until 18:00 local time on Friday, due to “continuous and sometimes heavy rainfall, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms”.

For the islands of the Central group (Pico, Faial, São Jorge, Terceira, and Graciosa), the yellow warning, due to “heavy rainfall”, is in force between 06:00 on Friday and 00:00 on Saturday.

The yellow level, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the meteorological situation.
