The details about the sale of the company were given by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Hugo Espírito Santo, to the Galician newspaper Faro de Vigo.

“I would very much like to complete the process in the first half of 2025 – and that means reaching the end and being able to decide. We have a decision and then we can close the process. It is a process that takes time and we have to do it in a very transparent and solid way, that is our point of view”, summarised Hugo Espírito Santo.

In addition to the European companies Air France-KLM, IAG and Lufthansa, the sale of TAP is also attracting the interest of other companies outside Europe. Without providing further details, the Secretary of State for Infrastructure indicated that the process “will be developed simultaneously with conversations with entities such as IAG, Lufthansa, Air France or others that are willing to make a bet and enter this race”, he said.
