This means that the existing BeachCam in operation, belonging to the Faro Surf Club (Praia de Faro – East), has been joined by two new cameras, one on Praia de Faro – Oeste and the other on Ilha do Farol, which will be at the top of Farol de Santa Maria.

The equipment allows the visualisation of sea conditions, in real time, along the entire coast of the municipality, and the installed cameras make it possible to observe the Farol and Culatra beaches, as well as the Ilha Deserta Bay (Farol chamber) and the entire beach of the Ancão peninsula (Chamber of Praia de Faro – West).

As is the case throughout the MEO BeachCam network, access to the images transmitted live by the cameras is free, the service is the result of a partnership between the Municipality and the Lighthouses Department, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

These cameras allow all beach and nautical lovers to view the coast and are also an important instrument for Municipal Civil Protection in terms of monitoring sea conditions.

To access the real-time preview of the new live cams, simply access and select the option in the navigation bar at http://beachcam.meo.pt . Live cams are also available on any mobile device, via the app, which can be downloaded for free.
