Ricky Gervais returning to Portugal with a new show

Ricky Gervais has announced the first European arena dates for his highly anticipated new stand-up show, ‘MORTALITY’, where he will be performing in Lisbon on the 27 February at MEO Arena.

The British comedian will be visiting some of the biggest arenas in European capitals in Portugal (Lisbon), France (Paris), Ireland (Dublin), Austria (Vienna), Norway (Oslo) and Switzerland (Zurich).

Further dates across Europe, North America and the UK will be announced soon. Gervais’ new tour is set to continue until the end of 2025, taking in the world’s biggest arenas.

Kicking off his world tour later this month, Gervais recently announced the first set of UK shows, all of which sold out immediately. He will visit 11 of the UK’s most important theatres and arenas, in cities including York, Oxford, Newcastle, Manchester, St Albans, Brighton, Nottingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, Ipswich and Birmingham

Fresh from the completion of his latest stand-up special, ARMAGEDDON, which won a Golden Globe, reached number one on Netflix and set the world record for the highest-grossing comedy show of all time, MORTALITY will also be filmed for Netflix.

Gervais said: “We’re all going to die. So we might as well laugh about it. *Mortality* tackles the issues of life. And death. Bring it on.”

Comedian Russell Howard coming to Portugal

British comedian Russell Howard, “enjoyed his performance in Portugal in 2023 so much that he will do it again”, but this time in a big way: at the Coliseums of Lisbon and Porto.

The sessions will be on 9 and 10 April 2025, respectively.

The return to Portugal is part of Russell Howard's world tour, which also has performances scheduled for Canada, Australia, England, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

Born in Bristol, England, Russell Howard is also a phenomenon on social media with almost 9 million followers. On YouTube alone, his videos have been viewed more than 510 million times. With his show “Respite”, the comedian sold out the Royal Albert Hall for ten consecutive nights, breaking the record set by Barry Manilow and Frank Sinatra, who sold out the venue for eight dates.

In 2021, Howard partnered with Netflix for the second time - his 2017 show “Respite” was already a hit on the platform - with the release of a two-part comedy special “Lubricant”. The production became the second most-watched stand-up special that year.

Cirque du Soleil returns to Portugal with Corteo

Kylie Minogue returning to Portugal

Australian singer Kylie Minogue will return to Portugal for a concert at the MEO Arena in Lisbon next summer.

The last time Kylie Minogue, 56, performed in Portugal was in 2009.

The show is scheduled for 15 July and is part of the 'Tension Tour', which begins in the artist's home country and will pass through several countries in Asia and the USA before arriving in Europe in May.

Kylie Minogue’s new album ‘Tension II’ was released on 18 October, with 13 new songs, including collaborations with The Blessed Madonna, Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo, Orville Peck and Diplo, and Sia.

Lionel Richie to perform in Lisbon in 2025

North American musician and singer Lionel Richie will perform in Lisbon on 29 July next year, as part of the 'Say Hello To The Hits' European tour, which starts in Northern Ireland and ends in Spain.

The musician returns to Portugal, after his last performance in the country, in 2023, at the Cool Jazz Festival, for a show at the MEO Arena, tickets for which will go on sale on Friday, the producer Ritmos e Blues announced today, in a statement.

'Say Hello To The Hits' will start in Belfast, on 31 May, passing through 16 countries, for a total of 27 shows, which will end in Madrid, on August 2nd.

According to the show's promoters, this tour will have a new production, never before seen in Europe and the United Kingdom, and "promises to be a magical tribute to Richie's enduring legacy as one of music's greatest songwriters and entertainers, and a true cultural icon".

Throughout his musical career, Lionel Richie has won numerous awards - including a Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe - and has sold more than 125 million records worldwide.

His musical career spans several decades, over which he produced songs such as 'Hello', 'All Night Long', 'Say You Say Me', 'We Are The World', 'Easy', among others.
