The deadline for paying Municipal Property Tax (IMI) ends at the end of this month, and for those who have an IMI bill between 100 and 500 euros, this corresponds to the second instalment, while those with an amount above 500 euros this is the third.
According to official data, this year (for the 2023 tax), 3,878,309 IMI collection notes were issued, of which 2,245,046 were worth between 100 and 500 euros and 686,504 above 500 euros. Together, these last two groups total 2,931,550.
For several years now, property owners have had the option of paying the entire tax when they receive the first notice in May.
IMI is levied on the market value of properties, comprising a single rate of 0.8% in the case of rural properties (land) and a rate that varies between 0.3% and 0.45% on urban properties (buildings and land for construction)
