Debuting in mid-2026 as part of its A380 retrofit plan, the cabin offers a seamless blend of privacy, comfort, and innovative design inspired by modern British elegance. Crafted by expert designers and world-class manufacturers from across the UK and Ireland, the seat provides unparalleled spaciousness with a 36.5-inch width and a 79-inch fully flat bed.

Features include a multi-purpose ottoman, a stowable dining table, and a 32-inch 4K TV with mood lighting options such as “dine” and “cinema”. The seat can be adjusted with the touch of a button to find the perfect level of comfort and is located within a cocooned 60-inch curved wall for optimal privacy.

In addition, passengers can simply wheel their luggage into a personal compartment, making it even easier to settle in before the flight. For those travelling with companions, the central seats contain adjustable dividers and tables for shared dining experiences.

The suite comprises ambient lighting referencing the airline’s speedmarque, button-controlled window blinds, and sound-absorbing soft panelling for a quieter environment. An advanced wireless control tablet allows customers to adjust their seat settings, lighting, and even activate a “do not disturb” mode to maximise their in-flight rest.

Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer for British Airways, emphasised the new First class as part of the airline’s broader commitment to premium service, complemented by exclusive perks such as First Wing Check-in, access to luxury lounges, and uninterrupted boarding.

As the only European airline offering First-class service across the Atlantic, British Airways continues to prioritise fast-track security and excellent on-board service, with this launch being a highlight of its £7 billion investment for improving passenger experience.
