In the month under review, the production of electrical energy from non-renewable sources increased by 4.8%.

Renewable energies supplied 67.7% of electrical energy consumption, while non-renewable energies 13.7% and the import balance was 18.6%.

According to data from REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais, cited in the same note, renewable production had the following breakdown: wind 33.7%, hydro 22.6%, solar photovoltaic 6.1% and biomass 5.2%.

In November, increases of 35% in photovoltaic solar production, 12.5% in biomass and 6.4% in wind were not enough to compensate for the strong drop in hydro production (-53.9%), causing total electricity production from renewable sources to decline by approximately 24.7%, year on year.
