The tournament had a total prize fund of 1490€ and attracted a field of 16 pairs of mainly UK based bowlers.

The pairs played in round robin matches in two groups of eight for the first four days of the Tournament, and then the top two teams in each group played in semi-finals and final on the last day. Steve and Chrissie McManus (Southport) emerged as winners, beating Geoff Bailey and Gerry Kinane (Floresta at Aldeia Azul) on a damp Friday morning. The competitors enjoyed both the bowling and the social side of the Tournament and those from the UK enjoyed the Alvor weather which was good apart from the last day!

The 2025 Tournament will run from 10th to 14th November and entry details are available on the Club website (www.alvorlawnbowls.com).

Alvor Bowls Club welcomes visitors and new members playing both flat green and crown green bowls and full details can be found on the website. Tuition and equipment can be provided for new bowlers. Crown green bowls takes place at the Club every Tuesday afternoon.
