This particular eagle is believed to be Stella, the famous bird which has been tracked by birdwatchers since 2020. In that time, Stella has been spotted in Alaska, Texas, and Nova Scotia, 3 locations on completely opposing tips of the continent.

Steller's Sea Eagles are native to the coastlines of Japan, Korea and Russia, meaning Stella has flown thousands of miles to arrive in Terra Nova National Park. It's thought that the bird accidentally flew over the Bering Strait during migration and got lost in North America.
