“The geographical proximity of southern Spain, as well as the growth in the number of visitors from this country, where there are more and more hikers, justify this new version”, says the Almargem Association, manager of the Via Algarviana.

The GR13 – Via Algarviana begins right on the border with Spain, in Alcoutim, an area where there are strong connections between the communities on both sides of the Guadiana. With this new version, Via Algarviana hopes to help Spanish hiking enthusiasts discover the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Algarve’s interior.

Both the website and the app were already available in Portuguese, English, French, German and Dutch, languages that cover the vast majority of tourists who travel this great hiking route every year.
